The Reigate School of Ballet and Commercial Dance is proud to announce it is introducing the exciting new Acrobatic Arts syllabus into the timetable. Our dance school is excited to be the first official Acrobatic Arts training centre in Reigate and Redhill, and one of only a few dance academies to offer formal acro dance training in Surrey and the South East of England.
Acrobatics has long been part of modern jazz dance, and can be seen in many styles such as contemporary dance, lyrical, street dance and modern theatre dance. The Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance continues to grow and be innovative through offering diversity and the ever developing areas of dance.
WHAT IS ACROBATIC ARTS?
Acrobatic Arts is an established and proven syllabus that teaches acrobatics within a formal dance training. The fusion of the two disciplines means that the acrobatic element is incorporated to enhance the choreography, so that it is not seen as an extra 'trick'.
DO I NEED DANCE TRAINING?
Acrobatic dance is best achieved alongside a dance training. If dance training isn't taken, then the progress through the acrobatic arts programme will be slower.
DO I NEED FORMER GYMNSATICS TRAINING?
No. The Reigate School of Ballet will be starting acrobatic arts classes from ages 4 to 10. We will be starting from the ground up.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GYMNASTICS & ACROBATIC ARTS?
Gymnastics will work to master skills using very little emphasis on dance. Dance moves are often used to link the gymnastic skills together, whereas acrobatic dance is a fusion of both disciplines incorporating musicality, quality of movement with the acrobatic element used as part of the dance.
Classes will start in September on Monday afternoons but there will be free trial classes and sessions during summer schools.
Miss Evans is looking forward to bringing this highly regarded syllabus to Reigate and Redhill. Examinations can be taken and pupils can feel a real sense of progression while adding another element to their dance training.
Reigate Acrobatic Dance training is coming to town!
