REIGATE & REDHILL'S STREET DANCE & HIP-HOP CLASSES
INDUSTRY LEVEL STREET & HIP-HOP CLASS SPECIALISTS
Our Industry Level Street and Hip-Hop dance classes are the most commercially taught classes in the area.
We are thrilled and really excited to have Rosie Whitmore join the teaching staff at the Reigate School of Ballet and Commercial Dance from the Autumn Term. She will teach our Junior and Senior Hip Hop and Street classes. Rosie is a professional dancer with much commercial experience and she is excited to share her talents and gifts with Reigate and Redhill’s leading dance school. On Saturdays, our experienced Miss Benjamin runs the Street. For more information and to book a place, please ring 01737 247795.
Read about our teachers
Street dance is a fun, energetic mash-up of styles, derived from dance conceived outside the formal dance studios.
It incorporates traditional jazz, hip-hop, popping and locking,
all of which are accompanied by pop and urban music. The Reigate School of Ballet and Commercial Dance covers the basics of streetdance at an early age, and develops the style at a later stage at the appropriate age.
It has now become a very popular form of dance in the commercial dance and music scene. We have always taught the commercial street style as it is more relevent to the styles seen on TV and in the pop music industry. Although many names are branded, RSB has continued to teach street dance styles in their classes relevent to the current trends.
As with all our classes, pupils can demonstrate their progression when we invite parents during our watching weeks. This is a great way to see your child’s development and chat to the teachers.
Strengthening and loosening classes
The body conditioning and limbering class is an invaluable session to develop core strength, flexibility, muscle-tone, and an overall cardiovascular work-out. It is physically challenging but great fun, whether to enhance the technique, or for an excellent fitness work-out. As we train pupils to vocational level and full-time dance collages, these classes are extremely beneficial for the physical performance.
