Reigate Dancers at Dorking Halls - 2016

Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance and RSB Dance pupils have had a busy Autumn term - one of the highlights this term was performing at Dorking Halls with the Show Choir.

Together with the Belfry's 25th Anniversary in Redhill and the Reigate Christmas Fayre, our dancers performed four pieces at Dorking Halls - so much performing experience for them!

The programme consisted of:

1) "Tears" - streetdance number

2) "Brand New Day" - Musical Theatre piece from the Wiz

3) "Boogie Ballet" - a classical ballet twist

4) "Shout" - Musical Theatre piece

The children were in high spirits and full of christmas joy (as you can see from the photos), and they all really enjoyed the experience of performing yet again with the Show Choir on a different stage (as most of our performances are at the Harlequin Theatre in Redhill).

Olivia and Jessica warmed up in a rather

unique way (spilits up the wall), whilst

everybody else jumped and posed for the camera.

DORKING SHOW CHOIR

The show choir was created by professional singer Angela MacKenzie, and brings together the joy of singing to everyone in the community. Angela has sung professionally at top venues in London and around the world - the Royal Opera House and the West End to name but a few venues.

The show choir has branches in Banstead, Dorking, Cobham, Guildford, West Byfleet and Horsham. Miss Evans, the principal of the Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance, has really enjoyed the connection with the show choir and hopes both businesses can collaborate further in the future.

For now, all pupils (and staff ! ) at RSB will now take a deserved rest over the Christmas period, and come back fresh for the new term. We love teaching the children and the children's enjoyment in classes is paramount to our success. We also feel the performing experience gained is a huge bonus for our pupils, as it builds up their confidence hugely.

Happy Xmas from all of us!!!
