NEW Junior Contemporary Dance opens in Reigate

New contemporary dance reigate

A brand new additional contemporary dance class is opening at the Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance, due to the rise in popularity of this creative style. RSB already has 3 contemporary classes, and now a 4th class will be introduced to our juniors.

Contemporary Dance is an extremely popular form of dance, with unique movements being created with the body, and it defies conventional forms of dance. It obviously helps to have a background in ballet for posture and strength, but this is a form that can feel inclusive as the choreography can literally be anything that the accompanying music desires. As a result, contemporary dance becomes even more popular as it can be danced to nearly all styles of music.

In the same year as being awarded the UK's Dance School of the Year "Overall WInners", we will now be offering TWO junior classes, one senior class and one Student class:

JUNIOR CONTEMPORARY (ages 8 - 10)

  • Wednesday 5.30 - 6.00pm (Colman Redland Centre, Reigate)

  • Friday 4.55 - 5.25pm (St Mark's Hall, Alma Road, Reigate)

SENIOR CONTEMPORARY (ages 11 - 14)

  • Wednesday 5.30 - 6.10pm (St Mark's Hall, Alma Road, Reigate)

STUDENT CONTEMPORARY (ages 11 - 14)

  • Tuesday 6.05 - 6.50pm (St Mark's Hall, Alma Road, Reigate)

Contemporary dance is here to stay, and allows children to gain valuable insight into alternative choreography and prepares them well for choreographic ideas, creativity and GCSE Dance.
