The time is near!
The troupe are ready to perform!!
Destination - Royal Albert Hall !!!!!!
WIth only days to go, our hard-working dance troupe are destined for the Royal Albert Hall - a regular venue in Reigate School of ballet and Commercial Dance's busy performing calendar. The group, a selection of our senior pupils at the school, will soon be ready to grace their presence on the large Royal Albert hall stage in London.
Rehearsals have been taking place for the past few weeks on Saturdays afternoons for this extra performance and grande event. Costumes were given out and most tried them out for size.
As the piece is in a Can-Can style, we have gone for striking black and red colours which, when under the bright lights of the round London stage, this specially choreographed piece in the round will look magnificent.
Miss Owen choreographed the piece throughout, with Miss Evans and Miss Benjamin helping out during the day. It is lovely to see many styles of dance merging into this piece - with this video we haven't given too much away hopefully.
We are all very proud of our performers and their hard work and dedication over the past few weeks, and very grateful to all the parents for bringing them - Reigate and Redhill's busy taxi crew!
Performing on this huge stage is a real experience for the girls and boys in the ensemble - together with local events experience, outdoor venues, and our local theatre experience (namely the Dorking Halls and the Harlequin Theatre, Redhill), our dance schools ensure the correct balance of balancing technique and performing experience.
Letters have been given out with regards to meeting times at the venue:
Please can we ask you to drop-off your children at the corner of Exhibition Road and Prince Consort Road for 9.20am. Nearest Tube – South Kensington.
WE ARE SOOOOOO LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS>>>>>>>
