THE BEARS WERE GIVEN A TALKING TO ABOUT BEHAVING WELL IN THE EXAM AND POINTING THEIR CLAWS!
Examinations at Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance for ISTD Ballet and Modern Theatre Dance examinations were extremely successful at our dance studios.
The two sessions were held in March and July, and over 150 children were included in these sessions. Our senior Modern pupils, who have attended our modern dance classes in Reigate, travelled to an I.S.T.D. centre to take their Intermediate Modern exams (a very higher status vocational examination). Our younger pupils had local examinations at the Colman Redland Centre in Reigate, where visiting examiners travelled to Reigate.
Our children's dance classes in Reigate and Redhill offer syllabus and non-syllabus dance lessons for a wide variety of dance genres, including ballet, tap, modern, street dance and hip-hop, musical theatre and contemporary dance. The examinations this year have been primarily ballet and modern - however the next session of examinations in December will also include Tap.
Children as young as 5 years of age started with a pre-primary examination and the day finished with level 6 ballet. We were very lucky to be able to demonstrate to the examiners a full range of every grade. The day was extremely varied from "kite and teddy bear" dances to sophisticated character and classical pieces.
The teachers were thrilled by the professionalism of our children, their demeanor was inpeccable, and their grooming second to none. With gelled, slicked back hair in buns, beautiful outfits and satin shoes they radiated during their dancing, to enhance their performance.
We would like to thank all the parents for their co-operation and assistance in preparing their children for their examinations. We would also like to thank all the parents who assisted the teachers, and helped on the day.
Preparation for December's session will commence early in September.
Congratulations to all the children who participated - you were fabulous!
